Because every child, deserves to be a child.
At Together for Children, we join forces during this holiday season, in order to embrace families in need. It involves hundreds of families with minors, facing poverty and social exclusion.
The percentage of people who do not have access to meat, fish, poultry or vegetables of similar nutritional value in Greece, has increased by 0,7 points in 2020 according to research by the Labour Institute, raising alarms for the further increase of poverty in the country, given the rise in prices.
According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority, 1 out of 3 citizens is at risk of facing poverty and social exclusion, while the child poverty index has risen in 2020 by a percentage of 21,4% compared to 2019. At the same time, Eurostat ranks Greece in the top 5 of European Union countries in terms of increase in the percentage of people at risk of facing poverty.
In 2020, Together for Children, managed, with your help, to include 533 beneficiaries in its food relief program out of which, 294 were children.
By September 2021, we have already provided for 30% more people than the whole of the previous year. Specifically, we have already helped 691 beneficiaries, but we still have a long way to go, as 816 people, out of which 464 are minors, are still on our social service's waiting list.
With our ultimate goal being to provide for all 816 people on our waiting list, we set smaller intermediate goals and ask for your help so we could meet them together.
The first intermediary goal of this campaign is to raise the amount of 10,000 euros in order to include the first 34 beneficiaries in our food relief program.

About the Food Relief Program
In order for families with minors to be included in our food relief program, they have to be refferred to our social service by municipalities or other social services. Our social service department prioritizes requests according income and vulnerability criteria following transparent procedures.
Through the program families are provided food stamps to be redeemed in supermarkets for 6 months. The family’s file is protected and treated according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the EU.
